A video on the role of control in the context of the Care and Growth Leadership Model
Executives and managers call such an interest “micro-managing”. They feel that it is not their job to involve themselves in the job of their subordinates, their job is to ensure that the subordinates achieve the required results.
It has to be clear, however, that what we put forward as accountability is not the same thing as holding people accountable for results.
The nature of control is to waste value. They function like the brake in a car. Every time you apply the brake you by definition waste energy that has already been put into the system.
This indicates that any proper and useful definition of empowerment would have three categories in it, namely those of means, ability and accountability.
