The Jacques de Villiers Group looks after the interests of Speakers Inc, Gauteng. Our goal is to set you up to succeed by finding you right-fit motivational speakers, business speakers, political speakers, economic speakers, masters of ceremony and entertainers that will add that wow factor to your event.

We have the profiles of more than 400 local and international speakers in our database.

Just email us or phone us and we’ll do all the heavy lifting for you in a fraction of the time it would take you.

But, if you want to take a sneak peak at the speakers we associate ourselves with open the next box.

Etsko Schuitema

Leadership Speaker

Etkso’s mission is to help people triumph as human beings by shifting their attention from taking to giving so that they can find security, fulfilment, power and harmony in times of catastrophic change.

[learn_more caption=”Learn more about Etsko”]Etsko, whose family was in mining, was exposed to the inner workings of the mining industry at a young age. At the University of the Witwatersrand he completed an honours degree in Social Anthropology before joining the Chamber of Mines of South Africa Research Organisation as a graduate researcher.

His work at the Chamber was initially focused on the issue of conflict in gold mines in the final eclipse of the apartheid regime. His groundbreaking work, dealing with conflict resolution, led to the development of a framework for understanding trust in this controversial industry.

As the Head of the Chamber’s Human Resources Laboratory Industry Project in the late 1980’s he went on to examine the fundamental criteria which exist in the relationship between employer and employee. The outcome was a unique perspective on leadership which subsequently has become known as the Care and Growth Leadership Model.

The application of the model in South Africa’s gold mines met with significant success, which led Etsko and a small group of colleagues to leave the Chamber of Mines with the objective of disseminating the model more widely.

In 1989 he founded Schuitema of which he is the Managing member. Since then the Care and Growth Model has been tested in disparate contexts, in 26 countries and on 5 continents.

In every context the basic premises of the model have been vindicated. Namely, that there is a fundamental connection between the problem of organisational excellence and personal excellence and that the nature of that connection is ethical and/or moral.

He is the author of the following books:

  • Intent: Exploring the Core of Being Human
  • Leadership: The Care and Growth Model
  • The Postulates of the Thematic
  • Beyond Managment
  • The Millennium Discourses

Etsko lives on a small farm in South Africa. He is married and has four children. He finds some time for personal pursuits such as chanting with a group of friends.

She has spoken at TEDx Johannesburg, the Sanlam Innovation Day, the SA Innovation Summit and the Entrepreneurs World Cup in Europe amongst others.

As an accredited Edward De Bono Six Thinking Hats trainer and with a degree in Psychology and Anthropology, Verity works across South Africa to enable companies to innovate, problem solve and gain the competitive edge in their industries. Alongside training of De Bono’s methods, Verity also facilitates strategy and team alignment sessions for management teams and their employees. She is a sought after keynote speaker on innovation and works with numerous companies as an ongoing thinking partner for strategic success.

Her keynote Acting Out the Box inspires you to think differently for the results you want.  If you have big goals or are hoping for different results, but you’re not sure how to make that happen – then this talk is for you.

An inspiring keynote that shares 9 key principles that can be applied to any goal as well as a brief introduction to Edward De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats. Verity takes audiences on a journey using strategic thinking to challenge how music is funded and then finding the courage to ‘act out the box’ and sell an album that didn’t exist, resulting in international recognition for innovation.

Her message is for everyone – great ideas only achieve great success when you ACT on them. She embeds her message with a song from her album that along with her message will leave audiences inspired and motivated to effect change, think differently and act on their ideas in order to achieve their goals.[/learn_more]

Stef du Plessis

Winning Culture Speaker

Stef has been helping leading brands for more than 20 years to improve their bottom-line results by growing their people, leaders and teams at all levels, creating winning workplace cultures and crafting action-driven strategies.[learn_more caption=”Learn more about Stef”]

AROUND THE BLOCK. What you read here is what you get, guaranteed. Your assurance is his track record spanning two decades, two-dozen countries and over 3,500 successful assignments. Which is why he has become a trusted resource to CEOs and event planners as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter, strategic facilitator and intervention leader on People, Culture and Strategy.

FULL HOUSE OFFERING. It’s not by chance that Stef is consistently rated as one of the top motivational and business speakers, conference after conference. Nor is it a coincidence that his corporate clients swear by his in-house programmes to help them to improve their performance, year in and year out. Rather, it is because Stef is the whole package: content that is relevant, practical and proven, brought to you by a world-class presenter.

SOLID CONTENT. With a Masters degree in leadership, Stef is academically well grounded. Many of his programmes were developed under the auspices of the University of Johannesburg, and given his considerable experience as an executive-level leader and entrepreneur over many years, he balances this with a hands-on approach. When it comes to his work in the field of culture, it is his partnership with Australian-based Steve Simpson, creator of the acclaimed Unwritten Ground Rules, or UGRs® process, that provides the tools and systems necessary to facilitate workplace transformation. Plus, having implemented a large number of programmes across a very broad spectrum of organisations over many years, his stuff is real-world-tried-and-tested, so you don’t need to experiment.

PEOPLE MOBILISER. Participant feedback is unanimous: he radiates authenticity. This connects him with people at all levels, across all divides. Now add that he is also a gifted communicator.

Result: Stef is able to motivate and inspire people to the point where they want to do more, and be more. Then he shows them how. Finally, he provides the tools, resources and assessments with which to make lasting change. Bottom line: his clients insist that he delivers solid content, presented with award winning style.

SHOW STOPPER. Stef is consistently rated as one of the standout speakers at premier conferences. So much so that he has been invited to speak on a number of the world’s most prestigious stages, to audiences of up to 10,000 people, translated simultaneously into as many as 18 languages… including the Million Dollar Round Table. This is perhaps the most envied speaker-platform in the world. Now consider the fact that Stef has spoken there twice.

CULTURE ARCHITECT. His corporate clients – including many of the most recognised brands in business today – bring him back to do more work with their people, year after year. Sometimes for a decade or longer. He has conducted literally hundreds of workshops for employees at all levels, and he has frequently lead company-wide organisational change and transformation interventions. In addition to facilitating strategic work sessions for executive teams, he is one of the very few practitioners anywhere in the world who is able to facilitate groups of almost any size, to ensure large-scale employee engagement, buy-in and implementation.

INDUSTRY ICON. It comes as no surprise then that Stef has received every available accreditation and award on offer to a South African based speaker, bar one: namely the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa’s highest and most coveted award. He has earned a far greater honour though, in that it has been named ‘The Stef du Plessis Award’. This undeniably demonstrates that his industry peers consider him to be the ultimate role model and that his career is a benchmark case study.

FOOL PROOF. Stef does not take on assignments that are beyond the scope of his expertise, and he only accepts invitations to work with a group or speak at an event after making sure that his content and style is a good fit. Which is why he is able to offer a bulletproof guarantee: he will meet your expectations, or the fee is on him. Period.

Vanessa Goosen

Inspirational Speaker

In 1994, Vanessa, a Miss SA finalist, is duped into carrying books with 1.7 kilograms of heroin hidden in them, She’s arrested, tried on drug trafficking charges and spends the next 16 years in a Thai prison.

[learn_more caption=”Learn more about Vanessa”]

At 21,Vanessa Goosen had a bright future ahead of her. She reached the semi-finals of the Miss South Africa Beauty Pageant in 1994.

With her modelling career in full swing, she explored her passion for clothing and design and opened an exclusive clothing boutique for men in Johannesburg. On recommendations from a friend and her then boyfriend, Vanessa looked at sourcing select items from Thailand.

She found herself on a plane, leaving Johannesburg on the 10 April 1994, to embark on what she believed would be the first of many such adventures. Before her departure, Vanessa’s (then boyfriend’s friend) asked her to kindly collect two engineering books from his brother whilst in Thailand and to bring them back to South Africa on her return … She gladly obliged …not giving it a second thought until she reached the airport. The books were packed with 1,7kgs of heroin. She was arrested for drug trafficking, charged and spent the next 16 years in a harsh Thailand jail

Re-united with her family, Vanessa’s struggle is far from over. She is constantly forced to confront the emotional and physical scars of her imprisonment.

Her courage, deep sensitivity and personal experience of despair and devastating tragedy have enabled her healing process to touch the lives of others.

Vanessa shares her story of defeat, hope and triumph through inspirational talks as well as her book, Drug Mueled (authored by journalist, Joanne Joseph).

Julie Filmer

Happiness Speaker

Julie helps people flourish by helping them become happy at work. Through her keynotes, workshops and individual coaching sessions, Julie shares strategies to live a happy and fulfilling life.

[learn_more caption=”Learn more about Julie”]

Julie is passionate about experiencing happiness, both for the pure sake of happiness as well as for the impact that happiness has on success. Through fascinating keynote addresses, interactive workshops, individual coaching sessions and information sharing, Julie shares her passion with groups and individuals alike.

As the saying goes, ‘Success doesn’t lead to happiness; happiness creates success.’ And so, for her, the foundation lies in HAPPINESS.

However, from her personal life story, she is well aware that our stress-filled lifestyles, our expectations of self and the tragedies and traumas that come our way all contribute towards states of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness – rather than states of happiness and joy.

With this paradox in mind, she goes along with another saying, ‘Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance.’

Through practical experience and a few hard knocks, she has found that one way we can dance is by responding to life as proactive creators instead of reactive robots … because, as she re-iterates, ‘It’s not what happens to us that matters, but how we respond.’

Her passion, through sharing the tools and techniques that she has found work, is to help you dance within your circumstances, to encourage you to love the process of living without denying your adversities (they have made you into who you are) and to enable you to rise to the occasion of gathering all the momentum you need to bounce forward to get to where you want to be going irrespective of where you are currently at.

Despite having qualified with a BSc in Dietetics and more recently as an NLP practitioner, her true degree has been personal experience, bestowed upon her by her mentor, business partner and late husband, Rob, as well as the greatest of all Universities, Life.

Rather than wasting all that she’s learnt, she has committed herself to sharing her knowledge, skills and tools and in so doing, contribute towards creating communities of happy individuals, learners and employees, people who also love living life and can go out and spread the tools of happiness and proactive creative living even further.
